Outdoor Education
Outdoor education is an integral part of our academic program.
Students in grades 2, 4, 6 and 8 participate in an outdoor education program.
The 8th grade class attends Caritas Creek, a one week science camp, or a nature adventure at Yosemite.
Our 6th also participates in a five-day science program at Caritas Creek, or a social studies experience on a farm.
Students in grade four attend the three-day Coloma Outdoor Discovery School near Sacramento, which emphasizes the California Gold rush experience.
Our second grade students attend Safari West, where they have the unique experience of meeting animals that are typically found in Africa, up close and personally.
Each of these excursions provides our students with a unique experience that cannot be replicated in the classroom. All students are required to attend. Families are required to pay for expenses although the school tries to subsidize by paying for part of the trip with e-scrip profits.
