Pick-up Procedure

Pick-up Procedure

Pick-up of students must take place on the school side of Green Street and at the corner of Pierce Street. A traffic lane will be created along the white zone on Green Street.  PLEASE  DRIVE AS CLOSE TO THE CURB AS POSSIBLE.

This lane will be maintained from 3:00 - 3:40 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and from 1:45 – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cars may not enter the schoolyard at any time students are playing in the yard.

Students will be grouped on the sidewalk according to grade.  K-2 will be closest to the corner of Green and Pierce Streets since these grades are dismissed earlier.  Students in grades 3-8 will also be grouped between the corner of Pierce and the gate to the upper lot. Please remember that children in grades 3-8 are not dismissed until the 3:25 pm bell.

The traffic coordinator, teachers and/or teacher’s aides will assist your children in to your car.  PLEASE DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR.  Often times it will take the 3rd through 8th grade students a little longer to exit the building.  The older they get, the more responsibility they have for packing up their own belongings.  Please allow an extra 5-10 minutes for students to come outside, especially grades three, four, and six. Please teach your child(ren) to work the seatbelts in your car.  When you have picked up your child(ren), please exit at the end of the traffic lane.

In order to keep the flow of traffic moving, if you do not see your child(ren), circle the block and return to the traffic lane.  Please do not come early.  It only leads to more traffic and congestion.  Please do not honk for your child(ren.)  This is at the request of our neighbors.

On rainy days students will be dismissed from the door in the West lot.

If you would like to walk on the school grounds to pick up your child(ren), legally park your car before doing so.  Please do not park in our neighbors’ driveways or in the upper schoolyard, which is located at the corners of Green and Pierce Streets.  Never park in the white zone.  The San Francisco Police will give you a ticket.

The success of this plan depends on the co-operation of every parent and child.
