BEST: Building Educational Solutions Together
BEST is a parent group, whose moderator is the Saint Vincent de Paul learning specialist Mary Morelli.
It is made up of a group of parents who share common experiences and share new resources regarding their children's learning methods and experiences. Their mission is to provide parents with more resources, to offer support for learning differences, and to bringeducational specialists to speak to parents. This helps our parents increase their wealth of knowledge about educating their children and work out solutions on how to best educate their child.
BEST is for all families in our school. It provides educational solutions that benefit all children. BEST continues to build its resources: Articles, books, tools, websites, groups and professionals for any kind of learning issue, and anything that can positively affect learning.
BEST invites specialists to address topics of interest that are requested by parents. Recent topics have included:
- How Nutrition Benefits Your Child and Learning
- To Worry or Not to Worry, How to Spot and Help the Anxious Child
- Evidenced-Based Strategies for Optimizing the Student’s Success in School
- The Realities of Communication and the Importance of Social Languages Skill, Homework and Study Skills
- The Fidgety Learner
