Community Service

Community Service

Community service is a very important aspect of life at Saint Vincent de Paul School.
Our students participate in many service oriented projects.  We have canned food drives, sandwich drives, sock drives, jacket drives, and backpack drives.  We feel that it is very important for our students to realize how fortunate they are and how they can help those who are less fortunate.

In addition to drives, our students make greeting cards for the elderly, the sick, and our war veterans.  They sing at St. Anne's Home, The Heritage House and work for Project Night Night. They also collect Books for the Barrios, work at Saint Anthony's Dining Room and at Glide Memorial Church.  On occasion, they have collected money in order to purchase a cow or a goat for people who live in poor villages.  They always collect money for the Holy Childhood Foundation, who then pass the money on to assist missionaries in third world countries.

Our students also write letters to our soldiers and send them "care packages" when they can. These are just some of the community service projects in which our students have participated. There are still many, many more opportunities for students in each grade to participate.
