Hot Lunch Program

Hot lunch is provided on all full days of school.  A monthly menu link is available at the left of this page.  Children may purchase lunch whenever they would like.  Hot lunch must be paid for in cash.  Unfortunately, our hot lunch provider will not allow punch cards or a lunch account.

We are very fortunate to have Upton's Catering as our hot lunch provider.  We have discovered that they go to extra effort to choose and prepare food that is more nutritious for our students.  Children must finish their lunch before they are allowed to purchase a dessert.

Students take turns eating in the cafeteria.  Half the school eats in the cafeteria while the other half plays outside.  Halfway through lunch, a bell rings and the children in the cafeteria go outside to play in the yard, gym, or street (which we are legally allowed to block off with barriers provided by the San Francisco Police Department) and the children who have  been playing go down to the cafeteria.

Children are expected to sit at the tables in an orderly fashion while speaking to their classmates using inside voices.  When it is time for them to leave, they should clean up their lunch mess, tuck in their chair, throw out their trash, line up and wait for their teacher to dismiss them.  They should leave the cafeteria in a quiet, orderly, line.
